A flexible workplace
IMCU offers employees a flexible workplace because we know that there’s more to life than work! IMCU’s HR policy notes that staff may be employed in a full time, part time or casual capacity. Job share opportunities are also referred to within the policy which highlights IMCU’s commitment to providing a flexible workplace.
We’ll help you with your studies
If you wish to commence study or are currently undertaking study at TAFE, University or an institution that IMCU recognises you may be eligible to receive study assistance. If approved by management IMCU will provide study assistance which includes:
- Study and examination leave of up to two days may be granted per subject, per semester (where a subject runs for a whole semester)
- Time off granted, where this is operationally possible. The leave will either be taken through an unpaid leave arrangement or holidays
- IMCU will also consider the reimbursement of TAFE or University fees and in some instances, an allowance for text books, up to a maximum of $800 in the successful completion of each 12 months of study
Development and Training
IMCU has initiated an Employee Performance and Development system which acts as an individual program/plan for each employee. The system is designed for employees and managers to construct key accountabilities and key performance indicators which are role specific. These performance measures provide the opportunity for employees’ successes to be recognised and to also become aware of areas which could be improved.
The system also allows IMCU to provide employees with relevant development opportunities which will enrich your experience as an IMCU employee. Development includes training, but it also provides you with the opportunity to discuss and implement a plan of action to progress in your career and develop your skill-sets and interests.
One of IMCU’s main priorities is to develop and train its employees. From this basis, many of IMCU’s employees have completed the Certificate IV in Financial Services which was arranged by the credit union.
Deb Ford, one of IMCU’s Member Services Offices recently completed the Certificate IV. Here is what she had to say about it:
“It was an informative course which provided us with a broader understanding of the financial services environment. It placed special emphasis on integrating all aspects of financial services, including the functions and legalities which surrounds the financial services industry. It was a worthwhile course which has added to my employment experience with the credit union and also to my knowledge which enhances the service that I provide to members”.
Traineeships
If you’re a school leaver and you’re interested in a career in financial services and/or IT IMCU can offer you the opportunity to participate in a Traineeship.
Our Trainee, Tristan is currently enjoying the variety experienced in IMCU’s Traineeship. He is currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Marketing. This is what he had to say about it:
“My traineeship is great because it allows me to combine the practical and theoretical elements of marketing in the financial services industry which is really interesting. The best part of my traineeship is being able to put what I learn into practice by helping produce marketing campaigns and track their success. I would recommend a Traineeship to those who are sick of the classroom and want some variety in their day.
