Loyalty Allowance Program
At IMCU we recognise our loyal members by making available a "Loyalty Allowance Program" whereby members can earn an allowance based on the value of savings, term deposits and loans, plus the number of years' membership.
The higher the value the greater the allowance members earn to offset against transaction fees.
This IMCU allowance rebate system has been in place for 3 years, but has recently been reviewed due to changes to the direct charging network by the Reserve Bank (effective 3rd March 2009).
Please see below for the new members allowance which is calculated monthly.
- $1 for every $1000 in average daily balance in Savings, Term Deposits or Loans
- Membership over 5 years or more will receive an additional allowance of $1.00
- Members under 18 years of age are exempt from transaction fees
- The maximum allowance per month is $40

Tips to avoid and minimise fees
- Use ATM's wisely and sparingly. Reduce the number of ATM withdrawals by thinking about how much you might need for the next couple of days rather than just for today - withdrawing larger amount less often will help reduce fees
- Get cash out when you shop. When you are shopping, withdraw cash at the same time through EFTPOS as this avoids the need to withdraw cash from an ATM.
- Cashless Shopping. There are many ways you can pay for things that don't involve cash. think about using the "CREDIT" option when using your Visa Debit Card at EFTPOS - it's FREE
- Pay bills electronically. Pay all of your bills electronically from the comfort of your home through BPay, Direct Debits or via our Net-Tella or Phone-Tella.
- Use Net-Tella. With Net-Tella Internet Banking you can access details of balances and transactions; transfer funds between your own IMCU accounts; and pay your bills via BPay - All without incurring a fee
- Use Phone-Tella. Check your balances and transactions; transfer funds between your own IMCU accounts; and pay your bills via BPay - All without incurring a fee. It's as quick and easy as picking up the phone!
- Make sure you have sufficient funds to cover withdrawals. Always ensure you have sufficient cleared funds in your account to cover all your withdrawals and direct debits. Doing so means you'll avoid paying a fee for insufficient funds.
Below you will find information on the fees and charges applicable to the credit union's products and services. A proportion of these fees are payable to third parties. Our policy is to adopt a system of rewarding members based on their level of commitment to the credit union and only charging fees for excess transactions.
